Zentalis Pharmaceuticals is a clinical-stage oncology company whose pipeline is now focused on azenosertib, a potential first-in-class WEE1 inhibitor. The lead indication is Cyclin E1-positive, platinum-resistant ovarian cancer: the DENALI study (parts 2a to 2c) is registration-intent with FDA Fast Track designation, the randomised ASPENOVA trial compares azenosertib with standard chemotherapy, and the MUIR study is testing azenosertib with bevacizumab as maintenance therapy and with chemotherapy backbones. The company states that Cyclin E1 protein overexpression predicts response to azenosertib. Zentalis, which listed on Nasdaq in April 2020 with an IPO raising about 190 million US dollars gross, was based in New York and San Diego at the time and now operates from San Diego.
