Breast Cancer Trials

aka BCT, Australia and New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group, ANZBCTG

The Australian and New Zealand breast cancer trials group, a Breast International Group partner in SOFT/TEXT, APHINITY, OlympiA and POSITIVE.

Founded in 1978 as the ANZ Breast Cancer Trials Group and renamed Breast Cancer Trials, it is one of the longest-running academic breast cancer groups and a founding member of the Breast International Group. It co-led the IBCSG SOFT and TEXT trials of ovarian suppression, contributed to APHINITY, OlympiA and the POSITIVE pregnancy-interruption study, and runs its own trials such as EXPERT (omitting radiotherapy in low-genomic-risk luminal A disease) and DECRESCENDO. A large consumer advisory panel shapes protocol design. Trials are coordinated from Newcastle with sites across Australia and New Zealand.
