Breast Cancer Research Foundation

aka BCRF

The largest private funder of breast cancer research worldwide, giving annual grants to more than 250 investigators across the field's leading centres.

Founded in 1993 by Evelyn Lauder, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation funds investigators rather than projects, renewing annual grants to established scientists so they can pursue long-term questions in tumour biology, metastasis, prevention, survivorship and treatment. Its portfolio spans the major US and international centres, including Dana-Farber, MSK, the Royal Marsden and Peter Mac, and it co-funds the Translational Breast Cancer Research Consortium and the Evelyn H. Lauder Founder's Fund on metastasis. BCRF-supported researchers have contributed to CDK4/6 inhibitors, PARP inhibitors in BRCA carriers, immunotherapy in triple-negative disease and ctDNA-guided treatment. Funding figures are published in its annual report.
