A UK charity dedicated to preventing breast cancer through research, education and campaigns, including on chemicals in everyday products.
Breast Cancer UK works on the primary prevention of breast cancer. It says at least one in four breast cancers are preventable through lifestyle and environmental factors, and it gives practical guidance on reducing risk, from diet and weight to avoiding harmful chemicals. A distinctive part of its work is campaigning on endocrine disrupting chemicals in everyday products, which it says may interfere with hormones and raise cancer risk. It funds research, runs a prevention quiz and community talks, sends breast check reminders and holds a breast cancer prevention conference. The Charity Commission register records latest income of about £2.1 million for the year ending 31 March 2025.
