Cancer Diseases Hospital, Lusaka

The Cancer Diseases Hospital is Zambia's dedicated public cancer hospital, established by the Ministry of Health on the University Teaching Hospital campus in Lusaka to bring radiotherapy and specialist cancer treatment into the country for the first time. It provides radiotherapy including brachytherapy, chemotherapy, nuclear medicine, paediatric oncology and palliative care for the whole nation, and hosts Zambia's oncology training with the University of Zambia School of Medicine. Cervical cancer, which is among the most common cancers in Zambian women, and HIV-associated cancers such as Kaposi sarcoma dominate its workload, and the hospital has partnered with international programmes on cervical screening and treatment.
