A Washington nonprofit, founded in 1996, that brings regulators, researchers, companies and patient groups together to change the science and policy of cancer drug development.
Friends of Cancer Research was founded in 1996 by Ellen Sigal and Marlene Malek, according to its about page. It convenes leaders from federal health and regulatory agencies, academia, industry and patient advocacy to address problems in oncology drug development, runs data-driven research partnerships that pool data from clinical trials, diagnostics and routine care, and publishes interactive tools built from public regulatory data on oncology drug approvals. OnCo records it as one of the partners that opened the Lung-MAP master protocol in 2014. The IRS Business Master File lists revenue of about $7 million for the tax year ending December 2024.
