The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare lists it as the prefectural cancer care hub hospital (都道府県がん診療連携拠点病院) for Fukui Prefecture, the top tier of the ministry's designated cancer care hospitals. Its English pages describe a Cancer Care Center with a cancer outpatient clinic on a dedicated floor and a Palliative Care Center established inside it in April 2016. The hospital runs the Cancer Counselling & Support Center, trains staff and reports to the prefectural government, and oversees the prefecture's cooperation and support systems for cancer care.
