A US non-profit, co-founded in 2013 by a neuroendocrine cancer patient and her doctor, that educates doctors and patients about neuroendocrine cancer so that more people are seen by well-informed clinicians.
The Healing NET Foundation was co-founded in 2013 by Cindy Lovelace, a neuroendocrine cancer patient, and Eric Liu, the physician who treated her, according to its about page, after they agreed that more doctors need up-to-date knowledge of neuroendocrine cancer. Its stated mission is to optimise the care of people with neuroendocrine cancer through education of and collaboration among physicians, other health professionals, patients and caregivers. The about page lists publications including a patient and caregiver guide to high-grade neuroendocrine cancers and a primer on neuroendocrine tumours for health professionals. The IRS records it in Nashville, Tennessee, with tax exemption issued in July 2014.
