Israel Society of Clinical Oncology and Radiation Therapy

The Israel Society of Clinical Oncology and Radiation Therapy is a union within the Israel Medical Association, describing itself as bringing together the doctors who treat cancer non-surgically in Israel. Its published membership is about 100 specialists and about 80 juniors and residents, which is society membership rather than a national headcount of oncologists. Its chair is Ravit Geva, and it runs an annual conference, held in Eilat in January 2026, with grants and presentation prizes, a monthly bulletin and teaching materials, and works with the national cancer council on radiation therapy.

The role that matters beyond Israel is its part in the health basket. Each year, with the National Council for the Prevention, Detection and Treatment of Malignant Diseases, it produces the ranked list of candidate solid-tumour drugs that goes to the public basket committee, in a two-step process informed by the ESMO Magnitude of Clinical Benefit Scale.
