Kent and Medway Cancer Alliance
The NHS England Cancer Alliance for Kent and Medway: the partnership that plans and improves cancer services across its hospitals, GPs and community services.
Overview
One of the 20 Cancer Alliances set up by NHS England from 2016, following the Independent Cancer Taskforce strategy, to bring together the hospital trusts, integrated care boards, primary care, hospices and charities serving Kent and Medway. Alliances lead local delivery of the NHS cancer ambitions: earlier diagnosis (including rapid diagnostic centres and targeted lung health checks), the Faster Diagnosis Standard, personalised care and follow-up, and workforce and pathway improvement. They hold transformation funding from NHS England and publish local performance and improvement plans.
