A US charity, founded in 2000, for people with sarcoma: research funding, education and resources, advocacy and awareness.
The Sarcoma Foundation of America was founded in 2000 by Dr Mark Thornton, Patricia Thornton and Dr John Brooks after the sarcoma diagnosis of the Thorntons' three-year-old son, when they found no national patient advocacy and research organisation for sarcoma, according to its about page. Its mission is to improve outcomes for people diagnosed with sarcoma by funding research, educating and providing resources, advocating for the community and raising awareness. The IRS Business Master File lists revenue of about $3 million for the tax year ending December 2025.
