Overview
Steve Biko Academic Hospital, formerly Pretoria Academic Hospital, is the central tertiary and quaternary hospital of Gauteng's northern region and the principal teaching hospital of the University of Pretoria's Faculty of Health Sciences. Its cancer services include radiation oncology, medical oncology, haematology and stem cell transplantation, paediatric oncology and a large nuclear medicine department that has been active in South African radioligand therapy research, including PSMA-targeted treatments. The hospital works with the Medical Research Council and the university on cancer epidemiology and clinical trials for a largely public-sector population.
