The proton therapy service of Willis-Knighton Cancer Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, the first clinical site of IBA's compact single-room Proteus ONE machine.
Willis-Knighton states that its cancer centre is home to the world's first clinical installation of the IBA Proteus ONE, a compact, single-room, cyclotron-fed proton system with pencil-beam scanning for intensity-modulated proton therapy. Its physicists' paper on commissioning the system won the George Starkschall Award of Excellence for a radiation oncology physics article in the Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics in 2018. NAPT lists the centre at 2600 Kings Highway, Shreveport.
