The prefectural general hospital in Kofu, designated by the health ministry as Yamanashi Prefecture's hub hospital for cancer care since 2006.
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare lists it as the prefectural cancer care hub hospital (都道府県がん診療連携拠点病院) for Yamanashi Prefecture, the top tier of the ministry's designated cancer care hospitals. Its site states that it was first designated in October 2006, that it holds Yamanashi's only advanced critical care centre (designated on 1 April 2019, the 42nd in Japan) and the prefecture's only comprehensive perinatal medical centre, and that it has a department of comprehensive genomic medicine. It is run by the Yamanashi Prefectural Hospital Organization.
