Current Oncology is a Canadian-rooted, open access clinical oncology journal now published by MDPI, with several Canadian oncology associations affiliated. Clinical oncologists read it for original research, reviews and practice guidance.
Overview
Current Oncology describes itself as an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal published online by MDPI from volume 28 (2021). Established in 1994, it is a multidisciplinary medium for clinical oncologists to report and review progress in the management of cancer. The Canadian Association of Medical Oncologists, the Canadian Association of Psychosocial Oncology, the Canadian Association of General Practitioners in Oncology, Cell Therapy Transplant Canada, the Canadian Leukemia Study Group and others are affiliated with the journal and their members receive a discount on article processing charges. Articles are free for readers with an APC paid by authors or their institutions. DOAJ lists it as open access since 2006 under a CC BY licence with an APC and anonymous peer review. NLM records the title from 1994, published in Toronto by Multimed and from 2021 by MDPI in Basel, with print issues ceasing in 2020; it is indexed in MEDLINE and PubMed with content in PMC.
