Amer M. Zeidan
Yale haematologist who led VERONA, the trial that asked whether adding venetoclax to azacitidine helps people with higher-risk myelodysplastic syndromes, and found it did not lengthen survival.
Overview
Amer Zeidan leads the myelodysplastic syndromes programme at Yale Cancer Center. He was the lead investigator of VERONA, the phase 3 trial of venetoclax plus azacitidine against azacitidine alone in newly diagnosed higher-risk MDS, and presented its results in 2024: the combination did not improve overall survival. He publishes widely on MDS treatment patterns, health outcomes and trial endpoints.
