Overview
Óscar Gerardo Arrieta Rodríguez is Director General of the Instituto Nacional de Cancerología (INCan), Mexico's national cancer institute and one of the country's National Institutes of Health. He is a medical oncologist and researcher with a longstanding interest in translational research in thoracic oncology, and he founded and led INCan's Thoracic Oncology Unit before his appointment. He was designated Director General in 2023 for the 2023 to 2028 term and was named in that role in a Ministry of Health press release marking the institute's 79th anniversary in November 2025.
