EOMES
EOMES (Eomesodermin homolog) is a protein that switches other genes on and off. The public catalogues list it as a fusion partner, and the evidence so far is association rather than a proven role. Tied to Non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
Overview
Functions as a transcriptional activator playing a crucial role during development. Functions in trophoblast differentiation and later in gastrulation, regulating both mesoderm delamination and endoderm specification. Plays a role in brain development being required for the specification and the proliferation of the intermediate progenitor cells and their progeny in the cerebral cortex.
Open Targets scores its association with cancer at 0.49 (direct and indirect evidence; datatypes literature 0.90, genetic association 0.60).

- 3 · How drugs use it
No product in this corpus aims at EOMES yet. Transcription factors have no pocket to plug, so drugs either degrade them or block the partner protein they need to dock on DNA.

Plays a role in brain development being required for the specification and the proliferation of the intermediate progenitor cells and their progeny in the cerebral cortex. Required for differentiation and migration of unipolar dendritic brush cells. Also involved in the differentiation of CD8+ T-cells during immune response regulating the expression of lytic effector genes. Location: Nucleus (UniProt). Locus 3p24.1 (HGNC).

Notes
top- Written by scripts/fetch-cancer-genes.ts from CIViC, Open Targets, IntOGen, HGNC and UniProt; the function text is UniProt's, condensed and in UK spelling. Roles: UniProt disease notes describe a translocation or gene fusion involving the gene. Evidence tier "association-only" is the strongest of those signals.
- Prevalence not recorded: none of the sources gives a positivity rate.
