Val-Ala dipeptide
aka valine-alanine linker
The Val-Ala dipeptide linker is easier to manufacture and less prone to aggregation than valine-citrulline, and is used with PBD payloads.
Valine-alanine is cleaved by cathepsin B like valine-citrulline but is more hydrophilic, which matters when the payload is very hydrophobic, as PBD dimers are. Used in loncastuximab tesirine.
