Atavistic chemotherapy: combinations of antibacterial, antifungal and antiprotozoal drugs in advanced cancer (Arguello clinic, status unknown)

The study is registered by a private clinic as a phase 2 with an estimated 250 participants, started in July 2011, an estimated primary completion of December 2022 and an overall status of unknown since its last update in April 2022 (ClinicalTrials.gov NCT02366884). The antiprotozoal arm lists nitazoxanide, chloroquine, albendazole, ivermectin, mebendazole, metronidazole, praziquantel and levamisole, so any result could not be attributed to ivermectin alone (ClinicalTrials.gov NCT02366884). The primary outcome is objective clinical tumour regression at six months, with methods that include changes in signs and symptoms and visual inspection of tumours alongside imaging (ClinicalTrials.gov NCT02366884). No results are posted and the registry's reference list contains only the investigator's own animal papers from 1988 to 1998 (ClinicalTrials.gov NCT02366884).
