A biobank that asks patients in Wales with known or suspected cancer whether they will donate samples and health data for research. It has been running for over 20 years.
The Wales Cancer Biobank approaches patients in Wales with known or suspected cancer to ask them to consent to donate biosamples and data for future cancer research. It calls itself one of the UK's largest and longest-established biobanks, and on 4 November 2026 its home page announced its 21st year of supporting cancer research in Wales and linked an end-of-award report for 2020-25 and a strategic plan for 2025-2030. It states that the information it holds is anonymised and that it does not release identifiable information to researchers or any other organisation.
