Blue Earth Therapeutics makes radioactive drugs that seek out a protein on prostate cancer cells (PSMA), for men whose cancer has spread and no longer responds to hormone treatment. Its lutetium-177 medicine is in a phase 2 trial, and an actinium-225 version entered its first human trial in 2026.
Blue Earth Therapeutics Ltd (Oxford Science Park, UK) was established by Bracco Imaging in 2021 to develop radioligand therapies based on radiohybrid PSMA (rhPSMA) chemistry. Its first outside financing, a USD 76.5 million Series A, was announced on 30 October 2024, led by Soleus Capital and co-led by Sands Capital Management, with Bracco Imaging, Woodline Partners and PBM Capital. The lead candidate, lutetium (177Lu) rhPSMA-10.1, reported key phase 1 results in March 2025 and began a phase 2 trial in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer in May 2025, with the first UK patients dosed in January 2026; it received a UK MHRA Innovation Passport in 2022. The alpha-emitting actinium (225Ac) rhPSMA-10.1, manufactured with Seibersdorf Labor, dosed its first phase 1 participant in July 2026.
