Overview
Cancer Research Horizons, based at 2 Redman Place, London E20, is the commercial and translational arm of Cancer Research UK. Its site covers a Therapeutic Accelerator, entrepreneurial training, a Seed Fund for investors, drug discovery groups (including a Functional Genomics Centre and Centre for Drug Development), licensing opportunities and multi-modal cancer datasets. Its start-up portfolio page states it has formed 95 or more start-ups across therapeutics, diagnostics and medtech, with 24 exits and more than GBP 3.55 billion raised by the portfolio. Exited companies listed include Autolus, KuDOS Pharmaceuticals (source of olaparib), Spirogen (antibody-drug conjugate payloads), Inivata (liquid biopsy), Monte Rosa Therapeutics and Myricx Bio (acquired by Novartis in a deal worth up to $1.5 billion); Trogenix, a glioblastoma immunotherapy company, is featured as an active start-up.
