Inivata
Inivata was a Cambridge, UK liquid biopsy company whose blood tests find traces of tumour DNA; it was bought by the US laboratory group NeoGenomics in 2021 and its RaDaR test is now sold by NeoGenomics.
Overview
Inivata, from Cambridge, England, built liquid biopsy assays on its InVision platform: InVisionFirst-Lung, a plasma ctDNA genotyping test for advanced non-small cell lung cancer, and RaDaR, a tumour-informed assay tracking up to 48 patient-specific variants to detect minimal residual disease (MRD) and recurrence. RaDaR held FDA Breakthrough Device Designation before the acquisition. NeoGenomics made a $25 million minority investment in May 2020 with an option to buy the company, exercised it in May 2021 for $390 million in cash and completed the deal on 18 June 2021. Inivata then operated as NeoGenomics' liquid biopsy subsidiary in Cambridge and Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The successor RaDaR ST assay is sold by NeoGenomics with Medicare coverage in HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer, HPV-negative head and neck cancer and immunotherapy monitoring.
