Imagene AI trains large artificial intelligence models on ordinary stained biopsy images so that, within minutes, a slide can predict which gene changes a lung tumour carries, helping doctors decide on targeted drugs before slower genetic tests return.
Overview
Imagene AI develops foundation-model based digital pathology for precision oncology. Its CanvOI model, trained on more than 1.5 million biopsy images, underpins an Oncology Intelligence Engine combining imaging, molecular and clinical data for biomarker discovery, patient stratification and companion diagnostic development. The Lung Prediction Panel, offered for research use from a CAP-accredited laboratory (March 2025), predicts eight actionable alterations in non-small cell lung cancer from H&E slides in minutes: EGFR, KRAS G12C, ERBB2 and BRAF V600E mutations, ALK, RET and ROS1 fusions and MET exon 14 skipping. Partnerships include Tempus (2025), Daiichi Sankyo (2026), Proscia's alliance for AI-powered IHC companion diagnostics (2026) and Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center. In July 2025 the company closed a $23 million Series B led by Larry Ellison, for $45 million raised in total.
