Ibex Medical Analytics
Ibex makes artificial intelligence that examines digitised biopsy slides to help pathologists detect and grade prostate, breast and stomach cancer, and to score biomarkers such as HER2. Its prostate tool is FDA cleared and its systems are used in hundreds of laboratories.
Overview
Ibex Medical Analytics, founded in Tel Aviv in 2016 and now dated from Boston, Massachusetts, develops clinical-grade AI for cancer pathology. Its platform (Galen, now Ibex 4) detects cancer and over a hundred diagnostic features across tissue types: Ibex Prostate for detection and Gleason grading, Ibex Breast for diagnosis, grading and HER2 scoring, and Ibex Gastric. Models were trained on more than 10 million slides and about 2.4 million slides a year are analysed across hundreds of live sites. Ibex Prostate Detect received FDA 510(k) clearance in February 2025 as a second-read device for missed prostate cancers in core biopsies; HER2 scoring and breast IHC panels are CE-IVDR certified. Deployments include UPMC, a national rollout in Wales and Alverno Laboratories and partners include Philips, Fujifilm and Roche. The $55 million Series C in September 2023 was led by 83North.
