DEM BioPharma develops antibody-drug conjugates, antibodies that carry a cancer-killing drug to tumour cells. Its first medicine, DEM301, is starting an early trial in people with advanced bowel cancer that has spread.
DEM BioPharma, Inc. is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It launched in June 2022 with an initial 70 million US dollar financing led by founding investor Longwood Fund and Alta Partners, with Insight Partners, Pfizer Ventures, Astellas Venture Management and Emerson Collective among the participants. DEM301 is an antibody-drug conjugate against DEM-TXX, which the company describes as a novel plasma membrane-associated glycoprotein overexpressed in colorectal, gastric, liver, pancreatic, cervical and testicular cancers. DEM301 was presented at the 2026 ASCO Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium, and the first-in-human phase 1 trial NCT07805369 in previously treated metastatic colorectal cancer lists sites in Australia. Its first registered cancer trial, NCT07805369, was posted on ClinicalTrials.gov in September 2026.
