Inhibrx Biosciences
Inhibrx Biosciences is a San Diego antibody company testing two cancer drugs: ozekibart, which triggers a self-destruct receptor on tumour cells in bone cancers such as Ewing sarcoma, and an OX40 antibody that boosts immune cells. Sanofi bought its sister lung disease drug in 2024.
Overview
Inhibrx Biosciences is a La Jolla, California clinical-stage company that engineers multivalent biologics. Ozekibart (INBRX-109) is a tetravalent DR5 (death receptor 5) agonist designed to induce tumour-selective programmed cell death and is enrolling patients with Ewing sarcoma in phase 1; INBRX-106 is a hexavalent OX40 agonist designed to promote receptor hyperclustering, in phase 1/2 and phase 2/3 trials. In January 2024 the predecessor Inhibrx, Inc. agreed to sell INBRX-101, a recombinant alpha-1 antitrypsin for alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, to Sanofi for 30 US dollars per share in cash plus a 5 US dollar contingent value right (about 2.2 billion US dollars aggregate value). Immediately before that merger closed on 30 May 2024, the non-101 assets (INBRX-105, INBRX-106, INBRX-109) were spun out into Inhibrx Biosciences, which received 200 million US dollars in cash, has Sanofi as an 8 percent holder and trades on Nasdaq as INBX.
