NaDeNo Nanoscience is a Norwegian company that packs hard-to-dissolve medicines into nanoparticles for delivery where they are needed. Its lead, PACAB-002, puts the chemotherapy cabazitaxel into the abdomen to stop ovarian cancer coming back.
NaDeNo Nanoscience AS, with offices in Trondheim and Oslo, was co-founded in 2022 by Annbjørg Falck and Yrr Mørch as a spin-off from SINTEF, according to the company. Its platform encapsulates poorly soluble molecules in a biodegradable polymer nanoparticle without chemical modification, for local, retained and controlled release. Its lead candidate PACAB-002 encapsulates cabazitaxel for intraperitoneal treatment of peritoneal micrometastases in advanced ovarian cancer. The EMA granted it orphan designation EU/3/26/3258 for ovarian cancer on 28 July 2026 (the company announced it on 22 June 2026), the company was selected for EIC Accelerator funding in February 2026, and on 20 October 2026 it announced approval of the clinical trial application for a first-in-human phase 1 trial with Erasmus MC in Rotterdam as lead site.
PACAB-002 is an experimental nanoparticle form of the chemotherapy cabazitaxel from NaDeNo Nanoscience, given into the abdomen after ovarian cancer surgery to clear small deposits left behind. Its first trial in people has been approved, and it has orphan status in the European Union for ovarian cancer.
