NBE-Therapeutics
NBE-Therapeutics is a Basel company, now owned by Boehringer Ingelheim, that builds antibody-drug conjugates, antibodies carrying a potent chemotherapy that also trains the immune system to keep attacking the tumour.
Overview
NBE-Therapeutics AG, founded in Basel in 2012, developed a next-generation antibody-drug conjugate platform for solid tumours combining its own conjugation technology, a PNU-derived anthracycline payload and antibody discovery capabilities. Its immune-stimulating ADC (iADC) concept aims for a long-lasting immuno-oncology effect in addition to direct cytotoxicity, with a pipeline of ADC candidates at various stages of development moving towards the clinic. The company became a wholly owned subsidiary of Boehringer Ingelheim in 2020 and in April 2025 opened a new ADC research and development centre in Basel that serves as a hub for Boehringer's ADC work.
