Tallac Therapeutics
Tallac Therapeutics builds antibodies that carry an immune-activating molecule into tumours, so the body's own defences attack the cancer. Its lead medicine is in early human trials and has a fast-track review status in bile duct cancer.
Overview
Tallac Therapeutics is a privately held Burlingame, California biotech founded in 2018 by Corey Goodman (venBio) and Hong Wan (formerly ALX Oncology). Its Toll-like Receptor Agonist Antibody Conjugate (TRAAC) platform conjugates a TLR9 agonist to a targeting antibody, delivering an innate immune stimulus into the tumour and aiming to generate a durable adaptive response rather than delivering a cytotoxic payload. The lead candidate TAC-001 received FDA IND clearance in May 2022, dosed its first patient in a phase 1/2 study in advanced solid tumours in July 2022, presented first clinical data at SITC 2023, and in October 2025 was granted FDA Fast Track designation for previously treated locally advanced unresectable or metastatic cholangiocarcinoma. The company raised a USD 62 million Series A in December 2020 from venBio Partners, Morningside Venture, Lightstone Ventures, Matrix Partners China and MRL Ventures Fund.
