Australia's research group for the emotional side of cancer: it runs multi-centre trials of psychological care so that the support offered to patients is tested.
PoCoG describes itself on its IPOS country page as a multidisciplinary organisation of researchers and clinicians whose mission is to develop and facilitate large-scale, multi-centre psycho-oncology and supportive care research across Australia. It was established in 2005 in response to the need for capacity to run such trials. Full membership is open to researchers and health professionals in Australia and New Zealand, with associate membership for international researchers. Its own site states that it is situated at the University of Sydney and funded by Cancer Australia through the Supporting Cancer Clinical Trials Program.
