POINT Biopharma developed radioactive medicines that home in on prostate cancer and neuroendocrine tumours, and built a large manufacturing campus in Indianapolis. Eli Lilly bought the company at the end of 2023.
Overview
POINT Biopharma Global Inc. (formerly Nasdaq: PNT) was an Indianapolis radiopharmaceutical company with late-stage radioligand therapies: PNT2002, a PSMA-targeted therapy for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer after progression on hormonal treatment, and PNT2003, a somatostatin receptor (SSTR)-targeted therapy for gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumours, both partnered with Lantheus outside certain Asian territories, plus earlier clinical and preclinical programmes. It operated a 180,000 square foot radiopharmaceutical manufacturing campus in Indianapolis and an R&D centre in Toronto. On 2 October 2023 Eli Lilly agreed to acquire POINT through a cash tender offer of USD 12.50 per share, and the merger was completed in late December 2023; the company website now redirects to lilly.com.
