Overview
Syngene International was established in 1993 and is a publicly listed subsidiary of Biocon. It works across four divisions (discovery services, dedicated research centres, development and manufacturing) and has grown into one of India's largest CRO-CDMOs, with clients including Amgen, Bristol Myers Squibb, GSK and Zoetis and a biologics manufacturing business. Much of the medicinal chemistry, in vivo pharmacology and antibody work behind Western oncology pipelines is done at Indian CDMOs such as Syngene, Aragen, Sai Life Sciences and Jubilant, which is the least visible but most established part of India's role in cancer drug development.
