Transgene
Transgene uses modified viruses to make cancer immunotherapies. Its lead product is a personalised vaccine built from each patient's tumour mutations, given after surgery to stop head and neck cancer coming back.
Overview
Transgene (Euronext Paris: TNG) designs virus-based immunotherapies for cancer. Its myvac platform produces individualised neoantigen vaccines on a modified vaccinia Ankara vector, with neoantigens selected by NEC's AI. Lead candidate TG4050 encodes up to 30 patient-specific neoantigens and is in a randomised phase 1/2 trial in resected HPV-negative head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. In September 2026 Transgene and NEC reported 100 percent three-year disease-free survival in all 16 TG4050-treated phase 1 patients versus three relapses among 16 controls (median follow-up 41 months), published in Nature Communications; phase 2 results are expected around the end of 2027. TG4070 extends myvac into adjuvant non-small cell lung cancer (phase 1); oncolytic viruses BT-001 and TG6050 follow. In November 2025 the company raised about EUR 105 million, with Institut Mérieux (via TSGH) and the Dassault Group participating, extending financial visibility to early 2028.
