Vivacta Bio is a Shanghai company giving CAR-T therapy as an injection that reprogrammes a patient's T cells inside the body, instead of making the cells in a laboratory. Its first product, aimed at B-cell blood cancers and autoimmune disease, showed early human results at a December 2025 meeting.
Vivacta Biotechnology (Shanghai) was founded on 25 June 2025 as a spin-out of Grit Biotechnology's in vivo CAR-T platform. It raised an angel round of over RMB 100 million led by Qiming Venture Partners in late 2025, and on 29 April 2026 announced Series A and A+ financing of over USD 50 million led by Loyal Valley Capital and Decheng Capital, with OrbiMed, Hankang Capital, Eisai Innovation and C&D Emerging Industry Equity Investment joining.
Its core product GT801 is an anti-CD19 in vivo CAR-T delivered by targeted lipid nanoparticles carrying mRNA, being studied in haematological malignancies and autoimmune disease. Initial human data were presented orally at ASH 2025, reporting CAR expression, CAR-positive T cell expansion, the feasibility of repeated dosing and B-cell depletion. A separate lentiviral programme, GT860, targets multiple myeloma.
