Kernal Biologics
Kernal Bio designs mRNA medicines that switch on only in the intended cell type, for example programming a patient's T cells against cancer inside the body without taking them out first.
Overview
Kernal Biologics develops cell-selective mRNA therapeutics: mRNA engineered to translate only in chosen cell types, delivered in lipid nanoparticles targeted to those cells. Its KR-402 programme uses T-cell-targeted particles to programme CAR-T cells in vivo and, per the company, achieves over 90 percent delivery efficiency with B-cell depletion within a week in preclinical models. Oncology applications include in vivo CAR-T and immune-stimulating mRNA for solid tumours. The company's YC profile names Hummingbird Ventures, Amgen Ventures, HBM and NASA among its backers; work is preclinical.
