Alixia
Alixia is developing drugs that act on the supporting cells and inflammation around a tumour as well as the cancer cells, to stop cancers from becoming resistant.
Overview
Alixia develops small molecules that disrupt metabolic and inflammatory signalling shared by cancer cells and the quasi-cancerous stromal and immune cells in the tumour microenvironment, on the thesis that hitting several cell types at once produces more durable responses and fewer resistance escape routes. The company is tagged oncology in the YC directory and remains active with a very small team; programmes are preclinical and no sourced financing rounds are recorded.
