Zumutor Biologics makes an antibody that blocks LLT1, a signal tumours use to switch off natural killer cells, part of the body's first-line immune defence. It is in a first trial in advanced solid tumours, alone and with an existing immunotherapy.
Zumutor Biologics Inc. develops antibodies from its INABLR human antibody library platform aimed at natural killer (NK) cell checkpoints. Its timeline says it was founded in Bangalore, India in 2013 and incorporated in the USA in 2015; the home page gives its headquarters as CIC Cambridge, Massachusetts, with an R&D laboratory in Bangalore. Its lead ZM008, an anti-LLT1 antibody, received FDA IND clearance in August 2023 and entered a phase 1 dose-escalation trial (NCT06451497), first as a single agent and then with toripalimab, in advanced solid tumours including non-small cell lung, head and neck, pancreatic and biliary tract cancer; the first patient was dosed in June 2024. The company lists earlier financing from Accel, IDG Ventures, Aarin Capital, KITVEN, Siana Capital and Bharat Innovation Fund, and states it raised a further 7 million US dollars in equity around April 2025. Its first registered cancer trial, NCT06451497, was posted on ClinicalTrials.gov in June 2024.
