PointCheck is an investigational fingertip device from Leuko that checks for dangerously low white blood cell counts without a blood draw, for people having chemotherapy.
PointCheck is being developed by Leuko as a portable device for use at home that estimates white blood cell levels optically through the skin near the fingernail. The National Cancer Institute funds an SBIR project on using it to reduce febrile neutropenia in people treated with chemotherapy (5R44CA228920-06). It is investigational and not for sale.
Images blood flow in the capillaries under the nail fold with light and uses AI to judge whether the white blood cell count is dangerously low, without drawing blood.
Country and place are remembered in this browser only. A postcode is sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to find coordinates when you press the button; nothing else leaves your device.
