The University of Cincinnati Cancer Center is the joint cancer centre of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, UC Health and Cincinnati Children's Hospital. John Byrd, whose trials at Ohio State established ibrutinib and then acalabrutinib in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, moved to Cincinnati in 2021 as chair of the Department of Internal Medicine and leads its leukaemia research programme.
