Overview
John Byrd (University of Cincinnati; formerly Ohio State) led the pivotal phase 1b/2 and RESONATE trials of ibrutinib in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, the results that made BTK inhibition the standard of care and displaced chemoimmunotherapy, and the ELEVATE-RR head-to-head trial showing acalabrutinib is better tolerated. His laboratory helped develop acalabrutinib and continues work on resistance and AML therapeutics.
