The Rocky Mountain region's NCI comprehensive centre and a world leader in oncogene-driven lung cancer, from ALK and ROS1 to NTRK fusions.
NCI-designated since 1988 and comprehensive since 1997, the CU Cancer Center on the Anschutz Medical Campus serves Colorado and the surrounding mountain states. Its thoracic oncology group, built by Paul Bunn and Fred Hirsch and continued by Ross Camidge and Robert Doebele, defined the clinical behaviour of ALK, ROS1 and NTRK fusion-driven lung cancers and helped bring crizotinib, entrectinib and larotrectinib to patients. The centre holds a lung cancer SPORE, and its partners include UCHealth and Children's Hospital Colorado.
