A US charity that funds research to move promising treatments for children's cancers out of the laboratory and into clinical testing.
The organisation that became CureSearch was founded in 1987 to support the Children's Cancer Study Group, according to its mission and history page. When four paediatric research groups united to form the Children's Oncology Group in 2000, it was the National Childhood Cancer Foundation and served as COG's federal grantee, fiscal and administrative agent and fundraising and advocacy organisation. It took the name CureSearch for Children's Cancer in 2012. Its mission now is to identify and invest in the most promising research to accelerate new and safer treatments for children with cancer, with a strategy aimed at discoveries that stall before clinical testing. The IRS Business Master File lists revenue of about $5 million for the tax year ending December 2024.
