The Lawrence J. Ellison Institute for Transformative Medicine was founded in 2016 in Los Angeles with a mission to reimagine and redefine cancer care, combining clinical care, research and technology. The Ellison Institute of Technology in Oxford extends the model: its own site describes a campus set for completion in 2027, eventually 2 million square feet for up to 7,000 people, a strategic alliance with the University of Oxford involving an investment of £130 million, a collaboration with Cleveland Clinic to advance research, education and patient care, and scholarships that fully fund Oxford degrees. Its institutes span generative biology, AI and robotics, pathogens and plant biology alongside health and medical science.
