Larry Ellison, co-founder of Oracle, founded the Lawrence J. Ellison Institute for Transformative Medicine in 2016 with a mission, in its own words, to reimagine and redefine cancer care by combining a clinic, laboratories and technology development in one building in Los Angeles. The Ellison Institute of Technology in Oxford extends the model to health and medical science, generative biology, AI and robotics, pathogens and food security. EIT's own site describes a campus set for completion in 2027, eventually two million square feet for up to 7,000 people, a strategic alliance with the University of Oxford involving an investment of £130 million, a collaboration with Cleveland Clinic to advance research, education and patient care, and scholarships that fully fund Oxford degrees.
