A Taiwanese cancer charity founded in 1997: dietary cancer prevention campaigns, free services for people with cancer, and a 2026 subsidy for next-generation sequencing tests in advanced lung cancer.
The Formosa Cancer Foundation (財團法人台灣癌症基金會) was formally established in December 1997, its history page says, through the efforts of public figures, doctors and business supporters, with support from medical professional bodies and doctors of the National Health Research Institutes. It promotes cancer prevention through diet, including the 579 fruit and vegetable campaign, and has campaigned on HPV and lung cancer policy and on a multi-source fund to help patients pay for new cancer drugs. Its 2026 announcements include a subsidy programme for next-generation sequencing tests in advanced lung cancer, and its app offers online advice from dietitians, nurses and social workers. Its UICC profile describes free counselling, nutrition guidance and courses for cancer survivors and records full membership since 2003.
