Henan Cancer Hospital
The cancer hospital for China's most populous province, known worldwide for oesophageal cancer research in the high-incidence Taihang Mountain region.
Henan Cancer Hospital, founded in 1977 and affiliated to Zhengzhou University, serves a province of roughly 100 million people and is a national reference for oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma, which is endemic in northern Henan (Linzhou, formerly Linxian). Its investigators have contributed to the genomic characterisation of oesophageal cancer, to endoscopic screening with Lugol's iodine, and to Chinese trials of PD-1 antibodies and ADCs in oesophageal and gastric cancer. The hospital also has large lymphoma, lung, breast and paediatric oncology services and cell therapy manufacturing collaborations.
