The Dr. Mary and Ron Neal Cancer Center is the cancer service of Houston Methodist Hospital, a large academic hospital in the Texas Medical Center a few blocks from MD Anderson. Pedro Ramirez, who at MD Anderson led the LACC trial showing that minimally invasive radical hysterectomy gave worse survival than open surgery in early cervical cancer, became chair of its Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2022. The hospital's research institute also hosts the Center for RNA Therapeutics.
