Overview
The Instituto Nacional de Oncología y Radiobiología is Cuba's national cancer hospital and research institute, under the Ministry of Public Health, providing surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiotherapy, nuclear medicine and palliative care and coordinating the national cancer control programme. It is the main clinical partner of the Center of Molecular Immunology (CIM), where Cuban biotechnology developed the EGF-targeted lung cancer vaccine CIMAvax-EGF, the anti-EGFR antibody nimotuzumab and other immunotherapies that were tested in INOR-led trials. INOR also trains oncologists for Cuba and partner countries.
